It all began with…

I’m Kayla and this is the sweet little boy who made me a mama, Levi.

The idea to start Mountain Mamas came to me when I was just a few months postpartum. I was just beginning to get back into the great outdoors, but this time with a tiny fragile human by my side. Frightening!

So many questions and feelings arose from both myself and family members when I mentioned our upcoming plans— “isn’t he a little too young for that? Are you sure that’s safe? He won’t even remember it so why bring him with?”

As a first time mama, I had so much to learn and figure out on my own. Even today, I’m still learning something new on every trip or hike we take.

My goal is to create a valuable resource and a welcoming community for all mamas with a love of the outdoors. A place to share tips, resources, information and inspiration.
